Cute Easter Gingerbread Man Giveaway

I LOVE gingerbread men, and so the addiction continues! We all know that pets are not just for Christmas, well, nor are gingerbread men. To me, they are all year round, I have so many seasonal gingerbread men ideas and here I bring you my little Easter guy as a free giveaway!

Check out the template to make your very own Easter gingerbread man. They make perfect gifts, add colour and interest to an easter tree and help to create a perfect easter table centerpiece. Over the years, I have dotted them between eggs in baskets or stood them up next to a small pot of flowers, they are just adorable!

The friends and family I have given them to have been delighted with them as gifts, and kids love them too! Just remember that they're not suitable for children under 3 and they're not a toy, we dont want our little mini's getting their teeth stuck into them!

These little guys are so simple to make, here's how to make your own:

What you will need:

Gingerbread coloured felt

Pale pink felt

Black cotton thread

White cotton thread

Black Glass eyes x2 (4mm)

A small ribbon bow

Small egg

Fabric scissors

Chalk or fabric Pen (prefereably a dissappearing pen)

A needle

Glue gun and hot glue sticks

  1. Print out your template,

  2. Draw around the template on some gingerbread coloured felt and cut out two of the main body shape.

  3. Before sewing your little cutie, I like to stick the eyes on first using a glue gun (the eyes I use are small glass eyes 4mm which you can easily purchase online).

  4. Then sew the mouth by using some black cotton thread.

  5. I like to cut out two small pieces of pink felt cirlces to make his cute little cheeks.

  6. Find the twine you would like to hang the little guy if you want to make him into a hanging decoration, leave it off if you want him to be a fridge magnet or part of a table centrepiece. Glue the twine or ribbon if you prefer, onto the back body shape near the top on the inside, so when you sew round him, the twine and glue will disappear inside.

  7. I like to use white cotton doubled up to sew around the outside. You'll need a fairly long piece of cotton doubled and knotted at the bottom..It's usually as long as my arm and that seems to be just the right length to get all the way round without having to re-thread. Start on one side of his neck and do a blanket stitch to sew all the way around the little guy, but don't forget to stuff him as you sew round. Struff the head first, then the arm and then the legs and finish with the second arm. If you try doing it all at the end, you'll find you won't be able to get in the his little corners. You want him to be quite tightly stuffed, I find they look just that bit cuter, if nicely stuffed and plump.

  8. Once he is all sewn up, you'll notice that his arms look a bit too long, don't worry, this is so that he can get his arms around the egg he's holding.

  9. Glue your bow just below his face

  10. You can find the little eggs in most pound shops, make sure they are small enough to nicely fit just between his arms and just below his bow. Hot glue the egg in place first, then hot glue the little arms to the egg. You will have to hold his arms in place for about 30 seconds to allow the glue to dry.

  11. Your cute little gingerbread man should be all assembled and ready to spread Easter cheer!

Don't forget to upload your finished gingerbread man below or across social media and hashtag it with #GingerSweetChic

I cant wait to see how you get on!

Happy Sewing!
